Vacheron is the oldest watch brand

Vacheron Constantin is the oldest watch brand in the world with an uninterrupted production history. Founded in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron whose grandson Jacques joined in partnership with Francois Constantin in 1819, the house of Vacheron Constantin has made some of the finest and most complicated mechanical watches in the world. The history of the company is one of constant invention and innovation at the highest level.
To celebrate the 260th anniversary in2015, a spectacular unique special order double-dialled watch was made with 57 complications. This watch known as reference 57260 is the most complicated mechanical watch ever made, a fitting validation of Vacheron Constantin’s motto “Do better if possible and that is always possible”. Right up to the present day Vacheron Constantin has employed some of the greatest watchmaking geniuses capable of pushing the boundaries of mechanical watchmaking to the limit.
The company is also famous for the stunning decoration of many of its watches created by the finest artisan enamellers and engravers. This tradition of supplying watches of not only the highest mechanical standard but with superbly crafted dials and cases stretches back to 1875 with Vacheron Constantin’s association with the Parisian jeweller Verger Frères. The collaboration lasted more than 60 years and produced some of the most exceptional watches and clocks of the period. Now made in-house, the métiers d’art department continues and enhances the company’s reputation for creativity harnessing tradition skills.
