A 1943 Patek Philippe watch, made of steel, was auctioned for € 10.2 million, becoming the most expensive wristwatch in the world. The auction was held in Geneva and was organized by Phillips auction house. A real upward battle that lasted 13 minutes among 900 people, established this record still unbeaten for a auction sale of a wristwatch.
The watch is the famous Patek Philippe Reference 1518, of which only 4 are in the world. Made of stainless steel, among the complications it boasts the perpetual calendar with the phases of the moon. Neither the identity of the seller nor that of the buyer has been disclosed.
